I have to say, Bungie's new game is looking amazing. The Beta is officially over; they unplugged the servers just a few minutes ago, but not before I got to explore Old Russia and the Moon, fight in the Crucible and the Iron Banner, and take part in a Strike on the Devil's Lair; first as a Warlock, then as a Hunter, and finally as a Titan. I tried out so many different weapons, from an antiquated Russian assault rifle found in the ruins of the Cosmodrome, to rarified full-auto beasts like the Shingen-C and Sahara AR-3. Not to mention a medley of Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles, Hand Cannons, Fusion Rifles, Shotguns, Machine Guns, and more... and I used that expansive arsenal to shoot, behead, disintegrate, and blow up all manner of Fallen and Hive, including a few Devil Walkers.

Some people may tell you the game is a knock-off of Call of Duty, but that's bull. The game is less like CoD and more of pleasing mixture of Halo, Borderlands, Mass Effect, and Skyrim, taking some of the best aspects of these games and rolling them all together into something that's just plain awesome.

If this was just the Beta, then I can't wait to see what the full game is like. We have over a month to go, but I'm already certain that Destiny is, without a doubt, a more than worthy successor to Halo. If you too took part in the Beta, I hope you enjoyed it and will be playing again September 9th. If you missed out, and you're not entirely sure if you should get it... take my word for it, and get yourself a copy. You won't regret it.

I'm going back to Halo:Reach until Destiny finally arrives. Maybe play a little Crimson Skies:High Road to Revenge on the side... but mostly, it'll be Reach. I feel it's as close to Destiny as I can get until the 9th. Bungie's last Halo game dropped a few subtle hints as to what was to come; I can't help but feel the Jetpack in reach ultimately led to the Glide and Lift abilities of the Warlock and Titan, respectively... and my favorite Scout Rifle in the Beta, the Jigoku SR-3, felt a lot like Reach's DMR.

Anyway... I'll see you starside.
