It's been 1 year since my dad committed suicide.
To be perfectly honest... I've gotten used to life without him. My mom, too. She's been having to work harder so that we can keep our house, but our house is so much more peaceful than it's ever been before. My dad was a troubled man. He was stupid, he was weak, he was gullible, and he was naive. But he was also very arrogant, and that's a bad combination. A man who is gullible, naive, and arrogant all at the same time makes a lot of very bad, very stupid decisions, and because he could never admit when he was wrong, he kept making the same stupid decisions over and over again. Taking his own life was the only way my dad could ever put an end to that cycle. He felt that me and my mom were better off without him... and however sad it may be, he was right. We are better off without him. My dad wasn't a bad man, at least not in the usual sense. He was just... an idiot. The very last thing I said to him was that he was a dumbass, and I wouldn't take that back even if I could. The last
Got a new gaming PC!
Over 10 years ago, my mom bought me my first computer. The first one that was MINE, anyway; I used to share my dad's old computer, but that sucked big time. I had no privacy using my dad's computer, and my dad never took care of his computers. His last computer, the one he had when he died, is so goddamn slow that it's almost completely unusable. But I digress. My computer was starting to slow down early last year, before my dad bought the farm. I knew I was gonna have to get a new one, eventually. A few days ago I told my mom it was time to take it in to get it fixed. But she didn't wanna spend the money to fix up a 10 year old computer. Said it was smarter to get a new one. Only I didn't wanna get another basic office job, like I had before. I wanted a gaming PC so I could enjoy all the perks of playing video games on PC, like console commands and mods. Cheat codes are mostly a thing of the past for console games, and there's only 2 games on console that support mods. Suffice to
'Hilda' was supposed to have 6 more episodes!
As you can see below, the team behind Hilda originally had 6 additional episodes planned for Season 3, just like in previous seasons. But Netflix cut their order in half, so we only got 7 regular episodes, plus the series finale special. This sucks, it really does. Though I've enjoyed Season 3 and was satisfied by the finale, I still wish we could've gotten the whole thing. I wanted to see more of the Fairy Country, some backstory for Hilda's dad, and more of Tofoten. Though, I suppose we should be glad that Season 3 turned out as good as it did, despite this setback. Other shows have not faired as well, even when they were given a full season (or more) to tell the stories they wanted to. Thank God the writers were able to adapt to the situation and still deliver a satisfying conclusion to the show. If I had to pick 1 show out of all the shows I've watched in the last decade that could have a good ending, I'd choose Hilda every single time. It will always hold a special place in my
A beautiful ending to a beautiful show.
Well, that's it. It's finally over. Season 3 of Hilda is finally here, and now that I've watched it from start to finish, I'm ready to talk about it. What I liked, and what I didn't like. The good news is that what I didn't like was very minimal. And there isn't much in the way of bad news, besides the show being over. Anyway... let gets to it, and break it all down. WARNING: There's going to be LOTS of spoilers ahead. If you haven't watched the final season yet, you should do so before reading this. Otherwise, don't say I didn't warn you!!! The Bad... I want to start with the few things that didn't like just to get them out of the way. Three episode in this season that I probably won't go back and watch again anytime soon; The Faratok Tree, The Laughing Merman, and Strange Frequencies. The Faratok Tree and The Laughing Merman are unquestionably filler episodes. The Faratok Tree is kind of interesting, seeing what the world was like 3,000 years ago in the last days of the giants
