Star Wars models for DAZ
Images of available Star Wars models for your 3D rendering. Note that these are not downloads but, where possible, download links will be on the pages. Some are hi-res characters and clothing for G8 and G3 models, some are simple objects such as vehicles. I'm hoping this will be a fairly exhaustive look at both free and premium models available for Star Wars fans.

Description
Still experimenting with LEGO Digital Designer. This time, I decided to build my own Star Wars ship.
I call this little beauty the Incom A-90 Scorpion Advanced Multi-Role Fighter. I was inspired by Captain Toth's personal starfighter from the video game Star Wars:Jedi Starfighter, and the ARC-170. This ship is armed with six medium laser cannons, two ION cannons, and concussion missile launchers. It also feature S-foils which are closed when in cruise mode and open when in attack mode. It holds one pilot, as well as an R2 astromech droid. In terms of performance, it outclasses pretty much every front-line fighter of the Republic, CIS, Empire, and Rebel Alliance; it is superior in speed, maneuverability, armor, shields, and firepower. But such overwhelming performance comes at a significant cost... literally. The A-90 Scorpion is too expensive to mass produce for conventional military, and thus is only occasionally seen in the hands of freelance mercenaries, bounty hunters, and sometimes even Jedi or Imperial officers. The fighter was first introduced shortly before the Clone Wars and continued o be produced throughout the Galactic Civil War; the most recent model (pictured above) is the A-90k variant.
I gave this one the same colors as my Skipray Blastboat... largely because I originally intended for the Skipray to be the ship for my sig-fig, but then I decided to go with something more original. Saber-Scorpion (another LEGO fan and... I suppose a former Star Wars fan) used a modified Skipray for his sig-fig, as did a few other people on his website, back when he first posted it.
My sig-fig is the Jedi Knight Aryck Kal-Durin, pictured in front of the ship with his astro droid, R3-T7. Still working on a bio for him... I played as him in KOTOR II, but I only recently decided to use in him in the post-Return of the Jedi era of the Star Wars universe.
Anyway, as for the model... I'm not entirely satisfied with it. I think it's the best thing I've built in LEGO Digital Designer so far, but... well, I couldn't get the wings to open an close the way I wanted to. I tried to create a mechanism similar to the 9493 X-Wing set, but I couldn't get it to work in the designer. Also... for some reason the wings won't move when I have the laser cannons attached to the end, I have to take 'em off to adjust them. Must be a glitch. Anyway, the cockpit opens, and it's got fur flick-missiles under the main wings... and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have any problem with the wings opening and closing on the real model. I think I might actually have most of the parts need to build this, too...
